In June 2011 the Governor of Brabant, Mr. Wim van de Donk, will visit the Province of Jiangsu China to follow-up on his visit in 2010 and to further strengthen the relationship between Brabant and Jiangsu. The visit is also intended to celebrate the installment of a Brabant Representative at the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Nanjing, capital of the province of Jiangsu.

BOM Foreign Investments launched the idea to organize a High Tech Conference in Nanjing in celebration of this opening. The conference is aimed at informing the audience about the key features and competences of Brabant and the Netherlands in a selection of technology domains and to pave the way for more cooperation and exchange of technology in either the Netherlands or China. The industries have been selected to match with the economic structure of the Province of Jiangsu and Brabant.

The “China Jiangsu – Dutch Conference on New Technology & Open Innovation” will start with an exchange of views from Jiangsu, Brabant and the Netherlands on the power of innovation for future economic prosperity. To conclude the first part of the conference BOM Foreign Investments and the Province of Brabant have invited representatives from Philips Electronics and TNO.

In the second part of the conference there will be 2 technology sessions highlighting 2 key industries that have a strong presence in Brabant or the Netherlands and in the province of Jiangsu. After careful consultation with the Province of Brabant, NBSO, TWA, LIOF and Jiangsu Department Of Commerce the following industries/technologies have been selected to present at the High Tech Conference: 

• Healthtech        Holst Centre and High Tech Campus Eindhoven
• New Materials   Chemelot/LIOF and DSM

At the end of the conference a dinner will be offered to all participants to strengthen new bonds made during the day and celebrate the installment of the Brabant Representative at the Netherlands Business Support Office in Nanjing.
