When it comes to the market in Europe, Eindhoven is still the place to be for BenQ Europe. Their European headquarters will soon be moving to a new location, where they will have with > 1.000 m2 twice as much room compared to their current office. The office offers room to grow to more than 50 people in the future.
BenQ has won international acclaim for its consumer products in the IT sector. The company’s products, especially its projectors and monitors, are among the best in the industry. BenQ Group is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and it’s annual turnover is around 20 billion euros.
Eindhoven: The Place to Be
BenQ is also an industry leader in Europe. Its European headquarters has been based in the Netherlands from the start. "We can service the entire European market from Eindhoven," explains Adams Lee, President of BenQ Europe. "Furthermore, the government and agencies such as the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) offer excellent support to us.”.
Visit from Taipei
It was BOM that advised BenQ to relocate when the company outgrew its offices. "In the past, we helped the company set up their offices in Eindhoven, "explains Eelko Brinkhoff, Project Director of Foreign Investments at BOM. "But we want to go the extra mile when helping foreign companies in our region. We keep in close contact with them and continuously monitor what their requirements and options may be. In BenQ's case, this led to the decision to relocate to a modern location with more space for their activities. We have also shown the company how the region has the power to innovate. This resulted in a visit last year from KY Lee, Chairman of BenQ Group. He was particularly impressed by the High Tech Campus."
Adams Lee adds, "This visit was impressive and Eindhoven will certainly be an important city when BenQ plans its global expansion. The knowledge-intensive innovation network that Eindhoven has to offer would obviously be to our advantage. Our workforce will also grow in the next few years, depending on the increase of our business in Europe. But Eindhoven will still be the perfect location."
