The Swiss company Panalpina, supplier of forwarding and logistics services, will be locating its dedicated distribution center for Bosch Security Systems in Tilburg. According to spokesman Bart Vorselaars, Operations Director Benelux for Panalpina, Tilburg was chosen because of its central location and the ample availability of industrial real estate.
Panalpine decided to move into a vacant logistics property on business park ‘Kraaiven’, and will be operational by October of this year. The operation in Tilburg will initially start with a workforce of 40 people, but in the future this number may increase rapidly, according to Vorselaars. It is expected that also Bosch employees will be working in this facility. Bosch Security Systems manufactures and sells surveillance cameras and fire and burglar detection systems.
The Panalpina Group is specialized in end-to-end supply chain management solutions and intercontinental air freight and ocean freight shipments. The company operates a close-knit network with some 500 branches in more than 80 countries. In a further 80 countries, it cooperates closely with partner companies. Panalpina employs about 13,500 people worldwide and has a consolidated annual turnover of close to $ 6 billion. The Benelux head office is based in Eindhoven.
