Memorable encounters in Korea
Saturday 1 May 2010

BOM’s recent visit to Korea included a “sneak preview” of the opening of the new Hi Logistics distribution center in Oosterhout in Brabant, the Netherlands. The Dutch Prime Minister, Jan-Peter Balkenende, was invited to affirm the bonds between his nation and the Korean enterprise by posing for a photograph with Messrs J.S. Lee and H.J. Kwon of Hi Logistics, to which he responded enthusiastically. The Hi Logistics branch in Oosterhout is to open officially on 27 May, and General Manager Lee once again expressed his appreciation of BOM’s services - providing assistance and information - which made it all possible.

While in Korea, BOM heard that Hi Logistics has serious plans to expand its new Brabant distribution center in the near future, and it is not unthinkable that the Korean company intends to center more of its operations from other European countries in Oosterhout.

BOM and its sister organization LIOF from Limburg accompanied a Dutch delegation to Korea to call attention to the economic potential and the favorable conditions of business locations in the southern provinces of the Netherlands. As a result, there were various promising encounters with Korean companies who were interested in establishing branches in Western Europe; they were particularly intrigued by the competitive prices and advantages for business locations that the Southern Netherlands – which includes Brabant, of course - can offer.
