Panalpina relocates from Rotterdam to Moerdijk
Wednesday 7 July 2010

The Swiss company Panalpina, supplier of forwarding and logistics services, will be relocating its establishment from Rotterdam to Moerdijk in July. According to spokesman Bart Vorselaars, this region still offers possibilities to expand, unlike Rotterdam. The workforce of 60 people will also relocate to Moerdijk, and in the future this number can increase according to Vorselaars. Panalpina will be renting a distribution center of 10,000 m2, this is currently being built and will be ready in Q3 2010.

The Panalpina Group is specialized in end-to-end supply chain management solutions and intercontinental air freight and ocean freight shipments. They operate a close-knit network with some 500 branches in more than 80 countries. In a further 80 countries, it cooperates closely with partner companies. Panalpina employs about 13,500 people worldwide. The Benelux head office is based in Eindhoven.

The city council of Moerdijk is pleased with the expansion of Panalpina in this municipality, as well as the possible extra jobs. “Panalpina offers employment which fits perfectly in the city of Moerdijk. We as a city council welcome these new jobs and this investment in our region” Ms. Ada Grootenboer (alderman for Economic Affairs) explains.
