Mar, Feb, Jan 2009 Japanese manufacturer of medical needles opens office in Tilburg
TILBURG, 24 mei 2010 --Japanese company TSK Laboratory Europe BV, specialized in the production of medical needles, has recently established itself in the Netherlands. TSK Laboratory offers products for interventional radiology (non-operative procedures) and cosmetic medicine. These are principally needles for breast, prostate and bone marrow biopsies and very fine needles for botulinum toxin and filler injections.
From Tilburg TSK Laboratory Europe BV concentrates on distribution in the European market as well as expansion of the European sales organization. For medical professionals the arrival of a Dutch office is very important. Managing Director at TSK Laboratory, Doris de Beer, explains: “For medical professionals our new office means that, besides good service, we can now respond quicker to clients’ wishes as well. Thanks to our local presence we are even better capable to base product development on wishes from the European market and to expand the business with the client as a central figure.”
Excellent logistic situation
The primary reason for TSK Laboratory Europe BV to choose for the Netherlands is the excellent logistic situation. In addition, 90 percent of the Dutch speaks a second language. De Beer lived in the US for more than ten years and engaged herself mostly with the international expansion of medical companies. “The Netherlands is actively working on attracting international companies and has a lot to offer to foreign companies, “ says De Beer. “Many foreign companies often refer to Amsterdam and Rotterdam when they think of the Netherlands, however, the province of North Brabant also offers a first-rate logistic offer and the costs of establishment are considerably lower than in the western part of the country.”
Cooperation with the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency and others
For the realization of its new office TSK Laboratory Europe BV worked with the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), the municipality of Tilburg, the North Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and NDL/HIDC (Holland International Distribution Council). The NFIA is an operational unit of the ministry of Economic Affairs. The NFIA helps and advises foreign companies on the establishment, rolling out and/or expansion of their international activities in the Netherlands. The NFIA was established more than 30 years ago, and has since then supported more than 2,500 companies from 40 countries in the establishment or expansion of their international activities in the Netherlands.
About TSK Laboratory
TSK Laboratory distinguishes itself primarily by the quality of its products and the offer of special needles for smaller niche markets. The medical needles are produced in Japan by TSK Laboratory Japan. Since 1973 this company has been part of a larger group of companies in Japan that manages several factories and schools, and has grown into the largest employer in Tochigi, a province north of Tokyo. The company’s first established abroad was opened in Canada in 1989 and is responsible for the North American market. The new office in the Netherlands gives TSK Laboratory the required European representation to further expand internationally.
