TCS is an IT services, business solutions and outsourcing organization, offering a consulting-led, integrated portfolio of IT and IT-enabled services delivered through its unique Global Network Delivery Model, recognized as the benchmark of excellence in software development. As part of the Tata Group, India's largest industrial conglomerate, TCS has over 150,000 of the world's best trained IT consultants in 50 countries. The company generated consolidated revenues of US $6 billion in 2008-9 and is listed on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange in India.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) inaugurated its Hi-Tech Center of Excellence in Eindhoven in April 2009. In doing so, TCS was the first Indian IT company that has set up a delivery center in the Netherlands, in Eindhoven. It launched with an initial staff of 50 employees, both Indian and locals, and plans to expand to 150 within three years.
The center is the second office in the Netherlands (headquarters is located in Amsterdam). Since 1992 TCS Netherlands has played an important role in the growth of TCS in Europe. They are pleased to serve leading corporations such as ABN AMRO, ING Group, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and KPMG. The progressive business culture, excellent infrastructure and the openness of the Dutch society are important factors in the success of TCS in the Netherlands, where TCS currently employees over 400 employees on site.
In May 2008 TCS announced a five year contract with NXP Semiconductors B.V, a top 10 semiconductor company based in Eindhoven. The contract is worth an estimated $100 million for which TCS provides high-end consulting services, application management, development and support services across NXP's supply chain operations. Services are implemented through multiple centers in India, Asia and the US which are part of TCS' Global Network Delivery Model. "We are committed to building on this success and further deepening our relationships in the Netherlands." said Shankar Narayanan, Director of TCS Benelux.
To support these centers, TCS opened its Hi-Tech Center of Excellence in Eindhoven, making it the first Indian company to establish a delivery center in the Netherlands. The Eindhoven center currently provides services to NXP and Rabobank. Long-term focus is to serve multiple Benelux customers from the center.
The success of TCS' operations in Eindhoven were confirmed in June when the company won the Netherlands Outsourcing Award 2009. Carol Wilson, Vice President and Global Business Unit Head at TCS commented "Leading high technology firms like NXP semiconductors demand nothing but the best. We are pleased that our new Hi-tech center in Eindhoven has been able to rapidly meet their standards. This award is a source of pride and satisfaction for us globally."
TCS has been supported in the successful establishment of its Eindhoven delivery center by the BOM, which facilitated housing and cultural training including the provision of a Holland Handbook for all expats staff. Brabant has seen an increase in investment from Indian IT companies in recent years, attracted by the region's impressive Research and Development facilities, good working climate, strategic geographic location and outstanding infrastructure.
